Within an hours drive of the bussling streets of Marrakesh you are in the Atlas Mountains.From its highest mountain Toubkal 4000m you can look north to the coast and south towards the Sahara desert. Its easily accessible summit is linked to many more 4000m peaks in the area. A week trip means you can climb many peaks via ridges, snow slopes and even winter climbs. Its a perfect introduction into winter mountaineering and climbing your first 4000m peak.
Experience required
We run two courses to the Atlas Mountain both includeclimbing Toubkal from various angles and degrees of climb:
Africa on Ice: Winter climbing at a ratio of 1 to 2
Atlas Mountaineer: General mountaineering course for any experience with a maximum ratio of 1 to 3.
